From a few years, we have seen the entire world warming up to feminism. It celebrates and encourages female leaders around us. In spite of it, everyday woman who wants to make a mark on the world faces double the difficulties than a male.
There are opportunities lost, heartaches, sacrifices and drama when a woman works on her ambition. Of being more than someone’s daughter, sister, mother or a wife. When they want the world to know their name. To accept them as an individual than an extension of someone else. Few women have faced it all and emerged as the best in their choice of field.
This women’s day; we decided to celebrate the women who literally carve a smile on our faces; our dentists. They are super moms, cool professors, toppers, founders, clinic heads, surgeons and foremost: are amazing being a dentist.
Braving the tireless work, extending carnal hours, striving through pregnancies, sacrificing their sleep, juggling between being a wife, a mother, a daughter and a daughter in law, they have made a name in the field of dentistry.
As we celebrate their achievements, let’s take the opportunity to learn the best advice they have for others to achieve the same.
1) Dr. Nilofer Sultan Sheikh:

A renowned Periodontist; a role model; women icon for younger generations. She is beautiful; intelligent; ambitious; graceful in everything she does…her grit to achieve her goals makes her different from the crowd. She believes women who do not need validation from anyone is the fiercest individual on the planet.
Dr Nilofer is working in the field of dentistry for 8 years. She was a university topper during her graduation period. She completed her masters in dental surgery from MUHS Nashik University in the year 2015. Apart from being a dental professional, she has a keen interest in Social work as she believes in giving back to society. During her career she got quite a fame by bagging 14 National & International awards; she is a speaker at many national & international conferences; dental events and dental camps.
She has been working for girl child education as a part of her social work. She believes in winning with integrity; living with integrity. One must have courage & faith to make every dream a reality.
2) Dr. Jyothirmai Reddy:

With 15 years of experience in the field of dentistry. Dr. Jyothimai has done it all. She is a head of the department for public health in a college, owner of Giggles dental and a partner in a corporate hospital. Along with managing three jobs, she also parents two children and is a health provider to many more. With a successful career and loyal patients, Dr. Jyothimai is definitely an inspiration.
On asking her advice for the young guns she says to gain the trust of your patients, to provide the best service to them and the success will follow.
3) Dr. Preeti Gupta Gulati:

With profound clinical experience and 12 years into practice, Dr. Gupta is a hallmark in creativity infused with advancements of the dental world. The overwhelming treatments she offers to the patients would make anyone a loyal patron of her.
One of the most renowned smile designers in South Delhi, she has many Awards, Fellowships & Certificates to her glory. What she treasures the most is the list of her (proudly endured) smiling patients.
4) Dr. Juweria Sultana:

Completed her masters from prestigious government dental college, Hyderabad. Secured first prize in paper presentation in National Indian academy of oral medicine and radiology conference. Dr. Juweria didn’t rest on her laurels. She went on to help others by starting a coaching academy: Elite MDS Academy. She teaches undergraduate students to excel in their attempt at Masters. 5) Dr. Deepika Veldurthi:

She is an accomplished Periodontist. An ideal and perfect woman role model for this generation. Striking a balance across all the roles as a daughter, a Wife, a Mother, a Teacher, and a Dental Surgeon. She has aced all the stages of womanhood with grace.
Dr. Deepika not only runs her own clinic, tooth planet independently. She is also the most favorite professor of her students at MNR Dental college and hospital. Her in-depth knowledge, expertise in various procedures, precise work skills, kind and helpful nature makes her an amazing female professional. She is a great academician and a novel clinician. These healing hands have touched many souls and got her glorious fame at this young age.
6) Dr. Bismad Kaur:

Masters in prosthodontics. Skilled in Botox and fillers along with dental implants. She runs a successful and growing practice Texla dental along with her husband Dr. Dil Mohit Singh. Dr. Kaur, says: keep growing with the industry and the world. Invest in dental marketing. It’s essential, not experimental.
7) Dr.K.Sai Geeta:

Dr.K.Sai Geeta is the NTR university topper in the department of pedodontics and preventive dentistry. After achieving the feat, most students only dream of, she bagged the coveted post of a senior resident in Osmania government dental hospital, Hyderabad, which by the way are only five per year. She proves education is the best means to progress both as an individual and society at large. And when you put your mind to something, you can achieve anything, no matter how difficult. 8) Dr. Divya Deepti:

A raging fire always starts with a spark. Same can be said for Dr.Divya Deepti. Dr.Divya, showed her spark in childhood itself when she left school with the best outgoing student award. Today she is an accomplished oral and maxillofacial surgeon. A field where it’s said that females don’t get the same chances as their male counterparts. Dr.Divya proves them all wrong. She now manages five clinics as their oral surgeon consultant. With successful full mouth rehabilitation using dental implants and management of trauma cases under her, Dr Divya embodies the statement no one can stop you from doing what you want if you are good at it.
9) Dr. Arshiya Fatima:

Owning your own clinic or being a professor is not the only way to go. Dr. Arshiya chose to climb the corporate ladder instead. After perfecting her skills at Mahavir cancer research and Medwin hospital for two years. She specialized in clinical cosmetology dealing with a variety of skin and cosmetic problems. She got extensive training in Botox and Fillers. With six years of continuous dedicated dental practice, Arshiya now works at Partha Dental as a Clinical Head Practice carrying out all dental treatments. She is keen on making a difference and improving the field of smile designing and cosmetics.
10) Dr. Shazia Gauhar:

Running a successful dental practice requires more than good clinical skills. Its micromanagement to the base. Managing finances, marketing, salaries, and making sure your dental clinic is open for all the patients at most hours is also an art which Dr. Shazia Gauhar perfects. She not only provides health care to her patients but manages her clinic Redhills dental along with her husband. On asking Dr. Shazia, what’s her aspiration with the clinic is, says she wants to serve patients from all backgrounds and nationalities in her clinic.
11) Dr. E Padmini:

An oral and maxillofacial surgeon in the making Dr. E Padmini enjoys the rush this branch of dentistry provides. Deemed as one of the most difficult streams in dentistry, this is where Dr.Padmini says she wants to be. “Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is a Challenging branch but that’s the rush which gets the best out of me… new tasks and risks every day help me to grow both as a doctor and a better person.” A word to other dentists – keep pushing the limits and refine your work as dentistry is branching out vast.
12) Dr. Uruja Khatoon:

When many girls halt their careers after marriage. Dr. Uruja has gone ahead and made the best of her situation. Instead of lamenting about leaving her job to shift to Australia along with her husband. She took this opportunity to advance her career by joining university and doing social work. Dr. Uruja on asking advice for girls who go through the same thing says: don’t down with changes in your life. Try to create the best opportunities without excuses.
13) Dr. Katekar Sowmya:

When nothing goes right; go left. Haven’t we heard this saying a lot many times? We keep more importance in having a successful career than a healthy life. When you have dentistry to fall back on, you can go ahead and take a break in defining life in more ways than a career. Dr. Katekar Sowmya believes in it all too well as she takes a break from her career to focus on family life. She has all the qualities of a successful clinician and years of experience to prove it. Advising other dentists, she says it’s okay to take a break and get back into dentistry when you can. It is such important advice to follow instead of being restless. When things are not working out in your favor, you need to relax.
14) Dr. R Archana:

This smile maker brings out a smile not only in her child but also her patients. A mother to a five-year-old, Dr.Archana pursues her masters in the department of pedodontics and preventive dentistry. She provides hope and courage to all the dentists who are mothers or mothers who are dentists that no matter where you are in the personal life, you can always move your career ahead. Passionate about singing, painting and making rangoli crafts Dr.Archana surely knows how to live life to the fullest.
15) Dr. Shruthi Reddy:

Another woman to break the mold. Dr. Shruthi reddy pursued masters in hospital management and now works as a manager in a leading dental hospital. Dr. Shruthi believes in multitasking and doing your best at every job you are on. She makes a prime example of being passionate about whatever you chose to do and the success will follow.
16) Dr. Andaleeb Zaidi:

A wife, A mother, A dentist, A writer and an entrepreneur. This is how Dr. Andaleeb likes to be known. She believes being one thing should never stop you from pursuing others. Always be curious and always keep looking out for opportunities. This time and age is the best time to be anything you want to be.
